Jeunesses Musicales Canada Foundation (JM Canada Foundation) is pleased to announce the official launch of the inaugural edition of the Iwan Edwards Scholarship for the Young Choral Conductors. This initiative aims to support and honor emerging talents in the field of choral conducting.
The Iwan Edwards Young Choral Conductors Scholarship represents more than just financial assistance. It embodies a deep commitment to promoting and nurturing young talents, while paying tribute to the lasting legacy and influence of Iwan Edwards in the world of choral music.
Applications are now open, and we invite passionate young choral conductors, aged 35 or younger, to submit their applications before the deadline on April 15, 2024. The recipient will be awarded a financial assistance of $5000 to support a distinct project related to choral conducting.
To be eligible, applicants must be Canadian citizens or have permanent resident status.
We strongly encourage potential candidates as well as influential figures in the choral music community to share this opportunity and participate in the discovery of new talents.
For more information on eligibility criteria and to submit an application, please visit the official website.
We look forward to discovering the inspiring applications that this first edition of the Iwan-Edwards Young Choral Conductors Scholarship holds for us.
