Montreal, January 7, 2025 – Following the success of the inaugural edition, the Jeunesses Musicales Canada Foundation is delighted to announce the launch of the 2nd edition of the Iwan Edwards Young Choral Conductors’ Award. This program aims to support and celebrate emerging talent in the field of choral conducting while honouring the enduring legacy of the late Iwan Edwards.
After the excitement and enthusiasm generated by the first edition, the Foundation reaffirms its commitment to promoting and developing young talent.
Applications are now open, and passionate young choral conductors aged 35 and under are invited to submit their applications by March 5, 2025. The recipient will receive financial support of $5,000 to assist with a specific choral conducting project.
To be eligible, applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
This award is part of an annual financial assistance program designed to actively support promising talent in the field of choral conducting by providing a valuable opportunity for professional development. We strongly encourage potential applicants, as well as influential individuals in the choral music field, to share this opportunity to help uncover new talent.
