Artist: Marie-Eve Munger (coloratura soprano)
In honour of the Jeunesses Musicales’ 75th anniversary, Marie-Ève Munger has been given carte blanche to perform a playful tour of the most beautiful opera arias for music lovers in her native region.
During this special event, the Centre JMC Saguenay is planning an extended intermission to offer music lovers a moment of relaxation. On the menu: a non-alcoholic sparkling toast to music and peace.
Biography:
Marie-Eve Munger is an exceptional coloratura soprano from Saguenay, Quebec. She is renowned for her disarmingly easy coloratura and her ability to preserve the warmth of her timbre. Her stage presence is often described as captivating, with critics claiming that she ‘steals the show’.
During the 2024-25 season, she will perform prestigious roles such as Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Regio Torino and Blondchen at the Opéra de St-Étienne. She has also been acclaimed for her performances in major productions at Opéra National du Rhin, Opéra de Lille, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
In addition to her vocal talents, she was recently appointed General Director of the Opéra du Royaume in Saguenay, where she collaborates with her husband, British director John La Bouchardière.
